“Antifa is a coalition of hyper-violent activists who are far-left anarchists or communists,” said Matthew Vadum, senior vice president at the Washington-based Capital Research Center. “They could be considered domestic terrorists. They are not legitimate actors in the democratic process.”
Fox News Channel’s Doug McKelway, on the scene in Charlottesville, was among reporters who described individuals in clashing groups wearing helmets and padded clothes, carrying shields, and brandishing lengths of wood.Read more
The rally was the largest white supremacist gathering in a decade, according to the Anti-Defamation League, but it wasn’t the work of one extremist group or coalition. Spearheaded by a local far-right activist named Jason Kessler, the rally saw several racists, anti-Semitic and fascist groups, new and old, come together.
The irony of it all is that the Democrat party founded the KKK and were the party of segregation and slavery, yet they want to destroy and remove statues of men who they say represented slavery and segregation. While the alt-right, which is actually a liberal movement of white nationalists and former Occupy Wall Street members who are protesting the removal of those statues because it represents the past history and culture of the US.Read more
